An ode to Matt's

I've gone on about the Jucy Lucys for too long without mentioning Matt's Bar. Some fools claim the Jucy Lucy was invented at other South Minneapolis establishments, but they are wrong. Everyone knows they started at Matt's and that Matt's is the only place where you can get them done right.
That being said, we are going to try and emulate the Matt's recipe and technique in our very own kitchen Tuesday night. We're thinking we'll stay traditional with American cheese in the middle. But maybe we'll go crazy, who knows? Angie likes to stuff peppers in everything, after all!

I think Pepper Jack is the best burger cheese. Nice and spicy, and it melts so well!

I don't know if I can read your blog anymore b/c it makes me hungry...
I do want to know though, how many of your sandwiches have bacon? Or more specifically, which of your sandwiches could be improved by adding bacon, since as you know, bacon makes everything better?
And I hope you make my favorite, grilled cheese (extra sharp cheddar) on sourdough w/ some juicy tomato and thick cut bacon. Can I say yum...

I almost bought some bacon for the Jucy Lucys. But I restrained myself at the last minute. I don't even know why. We do have some sandwiches in the hat with bacon: BLT, Club (2 ways), and we will totally put bacon in the grilled cheese. And tomato. Yes.
