How it began

It's January. It's Minnesota. It's actually not that cold this year (thanks CO2!) but it's still bleak January. It's best to have a project, right?
Our squatter, Angie, got us watching Heroes last fall. There was a long break for the show over the holidays. New episodes were set to begin January 22nd.
Hmm...how to celebrate. By making a giant hero sandwich, perhaps?

After days of agonizing debate, (what kinds of meat? where will we get the bread? what kinds of condiments?) Angie and I found ourselves at Cossetta's Italian Market and Pizzeria in St.Paul. After recovering from our shock at all of the delicious choices facing us we settled on prosciutto, Italian roast beef, porketta, hot soppresata and Molinari Toscano salami. On Cossetta's Vienna Bread. With mozzarella and provolone. And roasted red peppers, chopped artichoke hearts, red onions, romaine lettuce and tomatoes.

I haven't been so giddy on a Monday in ages

Hi Rebecca! Beth sent everyone at the office the address for your blog. Your blog was the topic at our office pot luck lunch today too! I think she's really proud of you and your accomplishment! Now I think I know what a blog is; a place on the internet that anyone (who is not technologically challenged- you know of whom I speak!) can make about whatever topic they wish to make it about, and they ramble on about their topic as much as their heart desires. Thanks for showing me what a blog is!

Anyway, I think your blog is nice...as blogs go, ya know...Your sandwich looks delicious! I think maybe you should work on your presentation though...the homemade pot holder next to your sandwich is kind of tacky!

Rebecca! 5 comments on your first post! I am SO jealous. And, making yummy sandwiches without me! Shocking. This just means we'll have to go out for lunch a bunch more times to make up for it.

I was very honored to have been there for the inaugural sandwich. It was worth you talking about for 4 days straight!
